  • Cats sleeping places

I wish you could see where my cat has managed to get to or rather into, in the corner of the dining room there is a small table on it is a box of stella with bottles in and thats where she has decided to sit.
One day I will learn how to put on pictures.

I have one, Sophia, who nestles down amongst the towel shelves in my upstairs shower room.

I've now learnt that's where I'll find her when she doesn't come in when called (9 out 10 times) - she knows its a refuge from all who would distrurb her - especially her 2 'kids'!

Now Schumi, 'fat boy' as we call him - his favourite place to sleep is with his (human) mummy!

He simply throws his front paws across my shoulder and drapes the rest of his body as close to mine as poss when its time for bed - how can a girl refuse! Once in bed for a cuddle he continuously head butts me, nuzzles me or taps me gently on the cheek for more attention - with his front paws dancing all the time.

There's many more interesting sleeping arrangements my 3 cats and one dog enjoy - too many permutations to describe here. And with the cats - if they 'can' get a night out on the tiles - so much the better - I just like to have them in at night.

My old cat has recently found a cyclamen in the garden she finds very comfy and is currently sleeping on it every day. Oh well I will just have to buy a new one!

I once wondered why my bulbs were comming up crooked in one pot but fine in the other - then caught Ollie (my fat boy!) curled up asleep in said sorry pot - he only just fitted too!!

Lilly likes to sleep in the silver cross pram - luckily its only Hannahs dolly pram (wish I could afford a real one of them, as I think they are gorgeous) but she has ruined it as its now covered in fur which doesnt seem to brush off very well!!!

Fine and Dandy but busy as always

God made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done

My big tom, Puss has decided to move next door for some reason. The neighbours knocked to tell us he'd adopted them just in case we thought they'd stolen him!! According to them, he is often to be found lording it up on their bed.
My little female, also Puss sleeps indoors. Either in Laurens dolly pram/cot or on me. Although if I leave the towel cupboard open, she will sleep in there and knock all the towels down into the loo, which is a nice thing to find first thing

i wake up most mornings, with the dog on one pillow, the big cat sleeps on the other side of me, and the kitten sleeps on my legs, they all get as close to me as they can, so in the mornings it's like i'm in a coffin.

the kitten (Cleo)sleeps on the fish filter in the garden,or in the tumble dryer if i've forgotten to close it, and Asbo(big cat) has taken up residence on a computer chair i put outside till next time neighbour goes to the tip, i go out to call him and he's curled up on it even when it's raining, he also sleeps in the bathroom sink, or on my bedroom windowsill outside the compost heap is also a favourite of them both, as it's nice and warm..... and any sized box is always their new home, even when it's half the size they are.

When my daughter was a baby I would often walk her around the block to get her to sleep and our cat chocolate would follow us, when we got back I would put her pram in the garden and put the cat net on as the cat would sleep underneath on the tray almost guarding her. He is now 14 yrs old and she is 12.

Back in the eighties when they were quite common, we had a large bottle garden. The neck of the bottle was not very wide but one of our cats at the time (I think it was Tigger) used to love clambering inside for a snooze. It must have been red hot in there but she loved it. The most comical thing was watching her wriggle her way out. I still can't imagine how she managed it.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.

Oh bless 'em all! Rosco actually sleeps in HIS bed when I'm not in. Boring isn't it? He's such a, well, cat! Apart from recently when I put two old pillows on the windowsill in the dining room. There's a towel on top to complete the throne, which he lies/sits on to watch the farming activities behind my house or take time out from his busy schedule!

Of course, when I go to bed, he's right there. Winter blanket is on the bed, now, so he first goes down to foot level (ahhh bliss!), but during the cooler hours he curls up with me, in a synchronised 'foetal' position!

my cats now sadly both gone used to sleep on the stairs we lived in a two up two down at the time bathroom downstairs oscar would sit in at the side out of the way but alfie used to lay right across the third step from the top a pain when you went to the loo in the middle of the night, this is the same cat that gave my neighbour heart failure after managing to climb in her bedroom window the small fanlight one at the top and land on her bed early one morning having jumped from the garden wall to the top of the half bay window to the bedroom ledge and through the window. Her OH slept through the whole thing!!

                        Hi all!

Aren't cats funny sometimes! They all have such different personalities and I say Bah Humbug to people that say different!! Cats are clever creatures, most of the time, lol I have no doubt about that what so ever!!

I have always had cats around me ever since I can remember, my Mum was a cat lover so as a small child, some of my earliest memories are of the various cats we had around the house.

I now have 5 cats at home, 4 girls, Blaze and Smudge who are sisters, Ramsey who is Blaze's daughter and Tabs who came from a rescue home! Then there is the old man of the house Esev. He was a stray I took in some 14 years ago! He was very wild back then and would only go to my daughter at first, it was her that found him and started feeding him every day with all the wrong things, i.e. Crisps and chocolate, he is lucky to be alive as chocolate is sooo bad for animals the caffeine is poison to them!

Blaze and Tabs will always want a cuddle with me whenever I sit down or go to bed. one or the other if not both will claim a spot on my lap or chest or where ever they can make room by nudging each other and me into position LOL! Tabs can often be found snuggled up in my airing cupboard as well. The door will not close tight so she has learnt to nudge it open. She looks at me as if to say all these towels and bed linen make a cosy bed mum, please don't kick me out of here!

On the other hand Ramsey and Smudge are more aloof and will only want a cuddle now and then, more than likely late in the evening just as I want to go to bed! I feel so guilty if I have to move them in order to get up!

As for my old Esev, he will sleep in some of the most uncomfortable looking places and will often favour places most high! I.e. along the narrow banister at the top of the stairs, or in either of his preferred penthouse sweets, i.e. on top of the wall cupboards in the kitchen which is about, I guess about 8 foot or so high! or on the top of the wardrobe in the spare bedroom. He will hide in these places when he is not feeling well or wants some space from his adoring ladies of the house! LOL The only trouble with his penthouse sleeping is when his head hangs over the edge of the cupboard, sometimes there will be an almighty crash bang wallop, as he crashes to the worktop or floor below. I rush out to find him shaking his head and looking as if to say what happened there?

Cat's will be cat's thats why I sometimes think they have more than nine lives!

                        Have a good day peeps!
                        xx Jan

that just brought back the memories of my son and saltar, our old totally soft mushy cat, long gone now, but son had a dolly pram, the cat liked nothing better than being put in a baby grow, laid down in the pram, covered with a blanket, with a dummy in hi s mouth ..... was hysterical when we went down the street, and some old lady would peer in at his 'baby' only to see the cat fast asleep sucking a dummy .... the looks on their faces was priceless

Ha ha! Lynda, we used to do that with my Sootica when I was a kid. Even had the old ladies looking in (well, they were probably 30, but you know what it's like when you're a nipper!). He once ran off from the next street, towards home. Trouble was, he was still wearing the doll's clothes. Wot a pansy!

Ahhh!! Cat's in dolls cloths and pushchairs/prams! When I was tiny our family cat Timmy would just sit there to be dressed in dolls clothes, usually a dress, even a bonnet with the ribbons tied under his chin! lol He would then indulgently let my sister or me put him in our dolls pram to be taken walkies! lol Ahh fond memories of a long ago passed moggie!

Thanks Jackie and Lynda for bringing back the memories!
