  • cat rescue

we have spent a pretty half hour rescuing one of our crazy cats who had jumped into the top part of the extension and then found it was too high to jump back out again! I was going to call firemen but they would charge apparently so it was borrowed ladders and brave OH climbing up.

For those of you on FB I have uploaded some videos of the deed! lol

I bet she goes and does it again tomorrow!

*If OH at work I will have to call fire brigade...

I bet she does...ours do things like that cos they think it's funny watching us panic.

No volunteering to hold those firemen's hoses now.......

Our neighbours' cat (from the downstairs maisonette where we used to live) climbed up up into tree and couldn't get down. After the third time of it getting stuck and a professional tree man being paid money they could ill afford to bring the darn thing down, we ended up resorting to laying a long post from the crown of the tree across to our sitting room window cill. Then when it was dark we used one of those red dot pens to tempt the daft cat across by getting it to follow the red spot! It wouldn't cross in daylight because everytime it looked down it could see the ground.

(The tree was only 10 feet from our front wall so two fence posts stuck together did the trick)

My namesake was the best climber I've ever seen. Trouble was he wouldn't jump down again. For five years step ladders were a permanent outside feature at our house, as we climbed up and lifted him down from roofs, trees, walls etc. umpteen times a day. Bless him!
A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.

Our cat went missing on Sunday, we have been so worried but today I heard a distant meoaw- which turned out to be her stuck up an enormous tree. I phoned the RSPCA for advice and they said that she might be motivated by food - 2 hours later she came out!

My OH has just reminded me that when our neighbours' cat used to get stuck up the tree our own cat used to climb up, have a look and a sniff at her, then make his way back down!
