  • The cars we chug about in....

Just got a PM asking for piccies of our cars - Animal and Flossie. As I am too dim tonight to work out how to PM piccies, I am starting this thread which everyone is welcome to add to...

Flossie is the cute one (in case anyone wondered

Lovely Shirley! Two PROPER cars! People these days don't appreciate such classics as ours. People are too keen to buy new ones, although I do appreciate that not everyone is lucky enough to have an OH who is very talented in the car tinkering department!
Has anyone else got a classic car? If so, we'd love to see your photos!

We have others... the red rover was first owned by Ronnie Knight. The Volvo is a true classic - from 1966 - and will be restored one day (I remember my parents buying it). Aranthos has a classic mini convertible (also being restored) but I can't find the pics of it at the moment so will add them later.

The last time I saw an animal like that................... it was a jam sandwich with a nic nic on top.

            V8 twin SU's I presume?

If so, I could probably shoehorn that engine into my Landie!

Wow! I love the volvo - what a lovely car that will make. A proper shaped volvo.

LOL Snadger, actually twin-plenum Vitesse V8's - Lotus tuned - a number of road-going ones had to be made to enable them to be raced in the Saloon car championships. Animal actually appeared in an issue of Practical Classics as an ex Royal Protection Squad car.

The Ronnie Knight car would have been parked outside where i went to the gym tonight... his nightclub used to be above. Its been turned into apartments now.

Don't know that it made it that far over the country, it was bought locally to us and clocked up 60k miles in its first two years - to and fro to Spain via Ireland apparently.

Yeah - great in a Landy - but not if you're going within 100 metres of water!

We had a Bobtail V8 Rangey Off-roader years ago - bloomin' lovely

Grown up a bit since then - but not much LOL

Just took some piccies of my Monterey I'm flogging as spares or repair on eBay. (Wid my NEW camera!)
Cripes I'll miss this auld bus as it's like driving a Rolls Royce, has an LPG conversion too, so is cheap to run................ but parts for it are a horrendous price.
