  • Can anyone help,please!!

A long shot I know but as the vine goes all across the country I thought I would ask.
Greyhound Rescue West of England are rescuing an elderly greyhound from Kent. Apparently there are no places up there in any rescue and the only other alternative is to put him to sleep. He does not deserve that!
What I am begging for (other than the offer of a home) is anyone who could help in the "relay" journey for him down to the West Country.
Fuel costs will be refunded and your place in Heaven will be assured.
At present I have the offer of a lift from Glousestershire down to Bristol where I will pick him up,though if need be I will go all the way to Kent for him.
If anyone could help please get in touch.

Hi Polly, I would love to offer to help but I am so far in the wrong direction it would be a bit daft! Good luck with the rescue.

Don't know if this would help but there is a Coventry Greyhound Rescue branch - 07806 226508 - maybe they could help?

Polly; can't help as in the Midlands and not due for a trip to Kent for a long while.

It might be worth changing the title of this to something like 'anyone travelling from kent to the midlands on saturday the 14th June???' - then those that don't read every post might pick up on it.

                    Good luck.

All sorted! I have a lift for the poor old boy down to Leicester and I will keep him until a home is found for him.
Many thanks to all who were concerned. Happy ending!

Thanks for letting us know Polly. I would love to offer a home but Madmax would chuck me out if I did!

I think our cats would move out if we took it, lol... The pups wouldn't give two hoots...

Greyhounds are fab pets and actually don't want lots of excerice as people think they do. All Greyhounds I've known were lazy sods!!

Glad you've managed to sort something out

Just picked up on this thread - would love to help but as both LadyWayne and I work all day, it wouldn't be fair on the old fella.

Some friends of ours took on a retired racer and he was a lovely dog, sadly he had to be put down earlier this year, but I think he was happy and well looked after until then.

                              Good luck with the search.
