    calling computer buffs, help needed

    I keep on getting a screen popping up 'underneath' the one I am working on.
    Buy valium diazepam xanax alprazolam zopiclone buy zopiclone imovane dormicum mizadolam lexotanil bromazepam is a regular, and I get others too.
    Ask.com often appears. I havent opened them, I havent even searched in the past for the things that come up.
    I have cleared cookies and cache, but this doesnt seem to make a difference.

    i often use multiple tabs and sometimes multiple screens, and it is only when I glance at the taskbar at the bottom of the screen that I notice these extra unrequested ones have appeared. I go through and shut them, but I was wondering how they appear. Has someone hacked my computer or what.

    I am starting to need the Valium that keeps offering itself now

      check your add-ons if it's firefox to make sure you haven't installed any toolbars like Yahoo or Google.
      Download an add-on called adblock plus for firefox.

      If it's IE you can see which ones are active, disable them, and disallow pop-ups.

      Lavasoft do ad-aware which searches for malware/spyware, it's another one to use regularly.

        thanks. I have downloaded the adblock plus. I am on Firefox. Will see if that works.

          Hi WW,
          go to:- Emsisoft Anti-Malware (a2), Mamutu, Online Armor and freeware security tools downloads

          download the anti malware 5.0 and run a complete scan of your pc, this will remove all trces of spyware that may be on your pc, after the 30 day trial ends it reduces some of the functionality to become a freeware scanner but still very powerful tool.

            Have downloaded the Emsisoft one now too, thanks. Hopefully a combination of defenses will solve the issue, thanks. I knew I could depend on Grapes to know what to do.

              I believe Malwarebytes is also another good free download. It may be worth a go if all else fails.

                I think you may have something called a rootkit virus, I had one and none of the above got rid.
                The only thing that got rid of it for me was Hitman pro 3.5, you can download it as a free 30 day trial.
                In fact I didn't use it to kill the virus, I used it to identify it, then searched for a destroy tool on the web.

                  running the emisoft one now, its found 18 so far.
                  Just got another screen that was distinctly 'naughty', one for the chaps maybe, or girls of a different leaning than me.

                      That's the one I use. I scanned Mr TS's lappy the other night and it found 205 infections (none on mine to date)

                        I'll need that address to confirm that its is a virus you have....just to be safe!!
