  • Calling all slimmers!

I've joined Weight Watchers this morning, and thought it would be nice to chat to other Slimming Grapes. So, I've just set up a Social Group where we can support each other through the highs and lows of losing weight, swap low fat recipes using our wonderful harvests etc.

So, if you fancy joining me, you'll find me in the Social Groups

I would have joined in having found out I weigh a bit more than I would like. However, I read yesterday that being slightly overweight is better for you than being underweight and since my BMI is only 26, I will wait and see if my weight balances out with my new medication.

    Good luck with your endeavour.

I "retired" at the end of last month. I now do "Gym and Swim" most mornings (sometimes life gets in the way). I have lost the best part of a stone since then just eating what I want and doing what I want.

I tried weightwatchers and another lot a few years ago and was gobsmacked at the crap processed food they expected me to eat.

Why would I want to eat Birdseye Beefburgers .

I'm not on any special diet, I eat what I want when I want. I have never liked sweets (they make my teeth feel as if they have socks on). I go to the lotty every day.

Having said that I had to buy some Dioralyte today as I'm seriously short of either potassium or salt as I was getting cramps. I really hope it's just the hot weather.

We had a 'lose a few pounds for 2009' thread, but I ended up talking to myself so I left it.

The new WW diet is really good - you've got a lot of freedom to either eat fresh, or processed. There's some really yummy looking recipes as well, which I can't wait to try.

I'm one of those people who need the support - I know what I should and shouldn't be doing, but just can't do it on my own.

Well Done to all you big losers! Seriously. Think I'm getting chunkier up top - got a gorgeous strapless dress at weekend and had to ask the assistant to fetch me a smaller size - but still I was chunky-looking. Have got a cardi to cover the excess flesh (flab really).

Good idea to chat, Magic Lady. It's tough doing it on your own, especially when you get stuck - or reach a plateau as they like to refer to it! I went on a 1000 calorie diet mid-May and have got down from 12st 9lb to 11st 12lb. It's easier when my OH is away sailing and I don't have to cook meals; I live on salads, fruit and chicken which is easy and leaves time for gardening! I'll join your social group tomorrow. Time for bed now.
