  • Cairo airport

Any helpers? I have found a quicker route home, but this one gives me 3 hours in Cairo airport. Clearly not enough time to do any sightseeing but enough time to sit in the bar and get my beer head on after 5 dry weeks.
But: Is there a bar at Cairo airport? Someone on here must know.
    Please help

Thanks Lynda, cute avatar by the way.
Problem is they have resto's etc at Damascus airport and Khartoum and others, but no bars. I shall so sulk if I have to wait 3 hours sans alcohol.

what airline are you flying? I can remember flying to Brunei on Royal Brunei and being a muslim state the airline did not serve alcohol but found out that as westerners we could take our own supply on board and drink it. was so greatful for a refuel stop at Abu Daibi airport duty free!!

From Khartoum to Cairo is on the Egyptian national airline, which dont serve it full stop as I'm led to believe (but more than happy to be proved wrong).
After that I'm Air France all the way home so no worries. But for the first several hours of my leave to be dry is never a good thing.
When I worked in Chad I would be in N'Djamena by about midday and sit in the hotel bar/pool until about 8pm when I would toddle merrily off to the airport for my flight home, and arrive in Paris with a thick head but no recollection of a 7 hour flight.

Sorry Bob, went to Cairo once, when I was fourteen.

              Went by bus from Alexandria!

No bl**dy help at all am I? X

We went round the Eqyptian museum and saw all the Tutankhamun exhibits that were too fragile to transport round the world - well worth a visit.

Ramadan finished a couple of months ago, so all is well and good. Cheers for your sterling efforts Lynda, it would appear that at least I can buy the stuff, not sure if they'll have enough for me though.
