Get her to look at it from the other side of the bar, ie customers.
Ask them what would get them to go to the pub more (for me that would be good vegetarian food, not just chips; comfy sofas; free newspapers ~ pretty much what the coffee chains used to do)
But then some pubs don't want women in ~ they like sticky carpets and sport on the telly, and no heating

      Business Studies research

We have just come back from doing some research for DDs business studies A level coursework. She has to explain how the recession is affecting pubs, and what measures they can take to overcome the problems.
In her free periods we visited a pub doing a January Sale on food, £2.99 for a choice between Rump Steak and Chips or Fish and Chips. It was pretty good, and she even made notes about decor, music etc. When she writes her report she is going to mention the lack of a vegetarian option, and analyse the possible effects. The manager has agreed to get some information together for her, sales figures, costs, explain what else they are doing to bring in customers etc. which was very helpful of him.
I don't mind helping out with that sort of research
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

it's not just pubs that lack in veggie menus, most eating out places do,either that,or the meals are swarming with cheese, ugh,a little yes,but not overkill,it would aslo be nice if fresh or frozen tuna was on a menu, and not just cold tin stuff,i always have bother with, what can i eat,and more often that not end up back home feeling let down again, and still doing my own.

As a confirmed carnivore, I have to agree that the veggie-menu is often very inadequate, and as for vegans........
If I can think up several veggie-recipes (and a few vegan ones) why can't caterers?
