Digging in a few plants and hit brick,Dug more and more up and underneath is a domed piece of concrete. It has a hole in the top but the earth keeps falling into it so i cant see whats in there. Its obviously man made, but its got dark now so have had to stop!!Called my husband and daughter and they are quite excited as well.Hubby is on a three day week now and said he;ll help me tomorrow morning! Will keep you posted.

It looks like the domed concrete has been put there to protect something. The hole is about 1 inch across, the whole thing is about 2 foot across. Its absolutely solid! couldnt Shift it at all,Hubby will think of something i'm sure.Cant wait for tomorrow

Fat chance ,i;ll be scrabbling about in the dirt!!! Seriously though,i will try to get my husband to take some as he will have his camera to take piccies of the log burner going in!So it wont take much effort. Its definately not a washing line as you can see bricks have been put around as well.

My Dad dug up an old spherical thing with spikes. The Bomb Squad said 'Don't worry, just put it in a bucket of sand at the bottom of the garden and leave it 'till we get there!'

Dunno how long they took, but don't think there was any urgency!

Err, be careful, it could be the cap over a disused well.

Been digging all morning!Yes my new avatar is a crocus,Glutton.Love it,its so pretty.Well i have just dug out an old path and a Washing pole!!Loads of old tiles and victorian bricks, but no treasure,so disappointed, lost some onions as well as the path went on and on.Still havent managed to get to the end as i'll lose too much veg.One thing though, how deep does bind weed go!Masses of it, hopefully that will help the garden a bit.Did take a picture this morning but not much point putting it on here as it isnt that clear anyway. This house was built in 1900,so i dare say i'll unearth a few odd bits as time goes on Did find some odd looking marbles as well lol.
