  • Birthday suggestions

I have a birthday looming (not a particularly huge one or anything) and Mr T is asking for suggestions. Last year I got 80m of water piping and a shiny brass tap (installed), the year before I got my rotovator - can you see a theme here?

So, what do I want this year????

I love my veg garden and am thrilled with it, I would like something along the same sort of lines (ie in a years time I will wonder how I ever managed without) but I'm not sure what......

What would you want if you could have it????

I would want an old retired gardener. I would keep him in the shed and bring him out for weeding.

Lot's but don't have the room

      A polly tunnel (large)
      A heated greenhouse.
Railway sleepers for raised beds/compost heap/manure heap,
Lorry load of well rotted manure.(enough to do whole lottie)
      Second shed to store produce.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

My hubby bought me a lovely water feature for the garden (an oldfashioned pump)
I turn it on when I am working and the sound of the water is so peaceful.
Maybe not so much a useful gift but brings so much tranquility to my garden.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

If you want something useful how about a tunnel structure with mesh to go over the brassicas and keep out the butterflies, they've got some in the Organic catalogue. Or something more decorative - a solar water fountain, or again a solar pump to water the greenhouse from the waterbutt. Happy Birthday in advance!!

For my birthday my OH gave me fence posts for my lottie lol. Without knowing what you already have its hard to suggest something. Think about what you could really do with and go and look at said item, or find out if anyone has one and do they find it useful.

To be honest I really wanted a couple of weaners this year - but Mr T is extremely opposed to the idea - maybe next year.....

Maybe I could persuade him to have chickens instead?

I also fancy the idea of a few cordoned fruit trees along the boundary fence - but that would be a winter pressie.

Maybe some groovy iron trellis for climbing beans and cues?
