Yes, I said something similar a while back in the wildlife section (where this will probably move to). As the weather's warmed there seem to be a few more, but not nearly as many as in a normal year. I have two plum trees, one at home and sheltered, one on the lottie and exposed, the one at home flowers a good month before the lottie one and has no fruit developing, largely due to a complete lack of pollination I think - although it's possible that the blossoms suffered some frost damage. A large bee was nesting among my strawberry plants on the allotment and it has now disappeared although I certainly didn't disturb it in any way. |
