  • Bbc chelsea flower show: Last show ??????

    Picture the scene.....

7:50pm arrives and i am looking forward to the last programme (Saturday night) regarding the Chelsea Flower Show.........

A few minutes in though i feel a little deja vous.........."I have seen this bit before" i think.

After an hour i realise that 80% of the Saturday night show is just bits of the other programmes from the last 7 days.

Very poor for the BBC i thought,

    Agreed??????????

But OK if you missed most of it during the week, and at least we actually got some glimpses of the gardens at Chelsea rather than interminable interviews with show biz non-entities.

Watched it and had seen some of it before but had missed a fair few of the episodes in the week so some of it was new. Spent most of the time thinking (well, actually, saying out loud to OH!) that there was rather too much emphasis on theme and not enough on horticulture and the plants themselves. Rather a shame I thought.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I thought there was too much 'theme' and not enough foliage last year, when I went up there. That's why I didn't bother with tickets for this year. I just shuffled around the living room with the other half, like a couple of penguins, for effect.

For the full effect you need to queue for 20 mins to use the loo

Oh I did that. It was the most scary loo experience of my life! OH watched as we were lined up with military precision by what can only be described as 'toilet police'. We were barked through to available cubicles as they came up, then when we'd added our fertiliser to the coffers, the moment the cubicle door opened (ok, they let me get a few steps toward the basin) paper towels were thrust into our hands! I have to say, it stopped the usual loo dawdlers - they were probably scared of getting the door bashed down!
