  • Baby Names

Don’t forget to try out the first name alongside the surname – it might seem obvious but clearly some parents forget. A parenting group website TheBabyWebsite.com revealed the stupidity (or sense of humour) of some parents after searching through online telephone records to find the most terrible baby names in the UK. Some of the worst included:

    Justin Case
    Barb Dwyer
    Stan Still
    Terry Bull
    Paige Turner
    Mary Christmas
    Anna Sasin
    Hazel Nutt

    Do you know any more?

Practise makes us a little better, it doesn't make us perfect.

Took me MONTHS to find perfect names, thought they were fool proof, but the number of times my son has been called LEWIS (he's Louis) is amazing. And we ended up with a dumb bell (other son is dominic, surname bell).
      lol

Mock not - there was a lad I sat next to in junior school whose name was David Nutt (still is, presumably). I quite liked him, but obviously, nothing could ever have come from it...

I would also ask prospective parents to think about what the baby-name rhymes with.... can have disasterous results...

My real-life name is Shelley... which rhymes with smelly, belly, welly - all very good for making up nasty nicknames.... thanks mum!!

Don't talk to me about rhyming names.

Nope, me neither, but didn't stop them singing it!

I often wonder, well not that often but on this occasion wonder if a woman would marry a guy with a crazy surname that she would be stuck with. Is the guys surname taken into account...............

I knew a woman called Holly and she was marrying a Brian Bush and she planned on changing her name to her husband.
