  • Asda / free sprouts

just niped into asda the half hour before closing, they were selling 750g bags of sprouts 5p instead of £1 ,so i got 6 bags, thought ideal for the freezer,on the way out some staff were outside,GIVING 1bag only free to anyone leaving the store ,so thats me chuffed,i have some at the lottie, but the sprouts on the tall stems are not growing very big, even for a button, unless i get a supprise come spring,
what bargains/freebies has anyone else anyone else baged recently, sad i know, but it has took my mine of my secret santa parcel, for now.

Whenever my sprouts are ready in the lottie they're usually 4p per pound in the shops! Midsummer sprouts are the way to go!

sprouts are lovely I like them! As a kid my daughter always hated them, she is in her mid 20's now and still dont like em! when she was a kid at her nans if we had sprouts for dinner we used to only put a couple on her plate, used to say she had to eat at least one! Cheeky mare, she would put them in a tissue on her lap then go and hide them in the bathroom!
God knows what mum must have thought whenshe was doing her house work! I only found out my daughters little secret a few years ago. The things kids get up to!

Yeah but you get what you pay for. Home made sprouts taste sooo much better.

I love sprouts too, they were delicious off plot, so were the spuds out of greenhouse and parsnips, we experimented this year and grew iceberg lettuce under polythene cloche in greenhouse and it was fab, served on top with prawns, melon and a sprinkling of paprika!!!
