The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

I am just greedy I have more than 5 types of arthur (didn't know there were that many) plus osteo p etc etc. The trick is to try and ignore it it wont go away but you feel better pretending it doesn't exist. I have raised all my veg beds and my garden etc in the hope of staying active but the pain is sometimes overwhelming and then its just a case of not moving because the option is just not there. Sorry for the pessimisum but it is the truth. However if you just have it in your shoulder you may be able to have steroid injections which can help.

Sorry Cloud, but everybody over 40 has arthritis. Only it's not official til your doctor says you have it. What can you expect ----- same as the rest of us ------ pain on cold , wet days. In fine weather, or on holiday in Spain, you won't notice.
Serious, but seriously, hope your pain dies down and not too many flare ups.
My husband swears Glucosamine (available over the counter) does wonders.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

When mine gets too bad, I use a TENS machine, which gives me temporary releif. It's an odd feeling and not everyone can get on with them but worth a try. I got mine off EBay for about a tenner.
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.
