  • Anyone heard of Safe4Kids?

    Hiya,

My C.E.O. has just had a call through from an organisation called 'safe4kids', looking for financial support from businesses. I've looked at the website COMMITTED TO HELPING CHILDREN KEEP SAFE: HOME, which looks a bit vague for my liking.

Is it a legitimate organisation? Has anyone heard of them before? Are they working in/with schools?

I 'think' they're legitamate...we had some E safety training for kids at school a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure it was based around that site.
I'll try and find out for sure and let you know.
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx

If you Google 'safe4 kids scam' it looks like they're bad news PB!
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

I thought the same PB - I know that schools will already be doing their own internet safety with their pupils and would not look to a charity to help them do it. There is a lovely safety facility which has a cartoon dolphin swimming on the top of any screen which it is safe for the children to view.
There is some good advice on Seahorse's link about trading standards as well.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Becki - I've taken to adding "scam" into the google terms every time something raises the slightest of suspicion. I can't remember a single time that it's turned out to be beyond reproach.

That might say something about my instincts... but it might also say that I miss a hell of a lot of scam attempts but don't hand my money over either.
