Noticed it was a bit slow, not been on shopping but went on to check a listing. Bought an Oasis suede jacket for my OH's daughter that was listed as 'excellent condition'. It arrived this morning with the collar covered in foundation and the bottom cuffs filthy. Never bought anything that wasn't as listed so not sure if I should chalk it up to experience or get in touch with them.

I'd contact them politely, maybe with photos of what you think isn't 'excellent', and see if they'll go some way towards a cleaning bill. If you don't get any help from them it has to be at least neutral if not bad feedback.
The only bad e-bayer I've had was some lace I bought from the States. She charged $12 for shipping and the actual cost was $1.50ish. When I contacted her she explained that she lived way out and the postmen collected as well as delivered from her, so she never knew beforehand what it would cost. She said she'd charged a lot as she'd previously lost out on the shipping of some clothes she'd sent to Germany.
She was willing for me to send the whole lot back and do a refund of the actual buying price (as she'd hoped to get more for it), but wouldn't refund about $5 of the shipping. She just didn't seem to understand why I was so mad. I kept the goods as they'd been a bargain, even with the high postage, but the morals of the thing were wrong. If she wanted more she should have started the bidding higher or had a reserve on it, and then I could have chosen if I wanted to spend that much.

I've bought stuff and reckoned the postage being charged was high, but since I knew what was being charged in the first place, it didn't matter to me. Some sellers sell cheap, but whack up the postage, and I reckon it is because e-bay charge the seller according to the actual 'price' excluding the postage charge.
Note that if you return something, and the seller refunds postage via paypal, you get charged e-bay commission on the refund of postage!Last edited by zazen999; 14-03-2009, 10:38 PM.Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
