  • Another new job !!

After being semi retired since 1997 and moving to the coast for leisure and relaxation I decided after 26 months that I was probably too young to stay in this position but wondered indeed if I would be employable after such a break. I have passed my time enjoying GYO, hobbies and a bit of sales repping for Avon. My previous background was Financial with massive spreadsheets and figures etc. Well, after shopping online one night recently I happened on the section for reruitment and thought it might be fun to complete a online application form. So, 4 weeks later and a telephone interview and 2 face to face interviews (all of which I told myself would be good experience and practise) I was offered a job!!!

Today was my first day. I managed to persuade that I only wished to do very part time and have agreed 4 days, 4 hours. It is a large store and seems very different but a breath of fresh air in comparison to my previous role. Everyone seems very nice and I can't quite believe that I found it.

So, to everyone looking, there are jobs out there, and you never know when you might come across them.

Wow, good for you - WELL DONE.
I too have been "retired" for a little over 3 years now and I actually miss working, ooh, never thought I'd say that . I used to work a lot with big complicated spreadsheets and databases and I really enjoyed it. My problem is that I don't speak French well enough to work here so I will have to satisfy myself being a housewife/home maker - call it what you will. Perhaps in 10 years time eh
Again, well done to you - enjoy it.
