  • Am I over-reacting?

with the weather being rubbish I have been some serious clearing out of cupboards and rooms - totally exhausted every night but know the end result will be worth it.

all that as well as ferrying kids around, seeing to 5 horses, 12 chickens, 4 sheep, 2 cats and 1 dog and the various veggie duties each day....NOT COMPLAINING and not looking for praise - it's my life and i love it.

However, OH came home tonight and the third sentence he uttered was "I see the hall didnt stay tidy for very long"......

now I'm sure he meant something quite innocent but I blew my top (to put it mildly)and now we're not speaking. (there's a surprise!)

he's a good and kind bloke and not like him to criticise so definately out of character...but i ask you! the third sentence out his mouth just after I've made his tea and served it to him!!!!!

am i over-reacting but wanting to stick a knife in him do you think???????

I'd have done the same thing SN Whether it was the 'right' reaction or not, I suspect he'd have been wearing his dinner as a hat not long afterwards.... Well done on your restraint I say

But was he being observant and noticing all of your hard work? who was the hall untidy from? Was he showing concern at your hard efforts being undone by someone/something? maybe he was just showing support?
On the other hand. If he was criticising your efforts - after you had worked so hard, then he deserves the wrong side of your tongue.

Best to suggest a joint effort by all to get it back how it was - then tea and cakes all round!

oh Bumble, we could do with you as our Peace Envoy!

I was the only one home most of the day till kids got in at 3, so I reckon he was having a go at me. Think he is sooking in now cos when I got back from dropping son off, he had done a big tidy up in the kitchen!

Do you think it's grounds for divorce? Or should I let him off the hook?

Don't ask me - as others can verify I have hard enough time not falling out with my OH.

Sometimes, we take on too much and other times they say the wrong thing, most times they could help out (before you male grapes all shout at me - terrible genralisation I know but, well, there you go lol).

Throw a duster / hoover / child at him and tell him to do a better job.
