Default Allotments under threat... can you help..?

An allotment on the Binswood Allotment site located in the green belt of North Leamington Spa, Warwickshire is under threat.

The land is under threat as an option to build housing on it, even though it is in a Green Belt area.

The allotment society are urging as many people as possible to sign their online petition.

If you've a mind to help fellow growers the website is: Home
Please pass on to friends and family.

Thanks

yes, I'd like to help. However, online petitions are fairly worthless, being easy to ignore, and taking minimum effort to sign.

I would write a letter to the authority concerned ... I had a look on the link but couldn't see who to address it to?

We have signed it for you.

We fu#king hate it when developers get their dirty hands on some beautiful green land, then they bulldoze the whole thing and dump some crappy looking houses on it.

It's not as if

a - there aren't enough empty homes already built that could do with renovation
and
b - the housing market is already stopping finishing off new builds at the moment - they shouldn't be trying to develop more green land.

Will pop over and sign it gladly in a mo.

Well seasprout, I think your worries should be on hold at the moment.

With the 'credit crunch' house building is not going ahead as fast as it was. A big name in building has announced redundancies in the industry.

I think is obscene that green belt land is being built on.

Signed, hope it doesn't get ignored!
When I lived in Huddersfield opposite some allotments I contacted the council about renting one and they said 'just use it, we'll send out the paperwork when we can, but we don't have a member of staff to deal with those allotments at the moment.@ They never did send any paperwork.
Since I've moved, I found out that they are now building on them . . no registered people using them . . .that's what that was all about!
