  • Alfred Hitchcock - I'm a big fan!!

I became infatuated with Hitchcock films as an art student and have been collecting his films ever since. I've just had a quick count up, and of the 60 films he directed, I own 43 of them!! I'm only missing 5 early talkies and 12 silent films. Not bad going.

    Can anyone top that?

Rear Window is my most watched Hitch.

My nextdoor neighbours FIL looked just like Lars Thorwald - gave me the heebiejeebies everytime I saw him

Sadly Hitchcock's a little before my time. Shame because it's rare that anyone puts as much effort into films these days. I used to love North by Northwest though.

Well, I still have quite a few of them; I just don't go to record fairs any more.

I do love a good Hitchcock; we studied several of him films when we did the fun part of my degree [that part was media studies] and looked at his work side by side with Lacan.....happy days.

Well, I was only just on the brink of being too young. Those couple of years' disparity obviously makes all the difference.

Hmmmm...I'm not sure that even rates as a round-about apology, but I'll go with it.

Back to Hitchcock...yep, I watched North By Northwest yesterday morning, and have just started Family Plot.

I'm sorry that you're just a teeny bit older than me.

                      Are you doing a Hitchcock-a-thon?
I did that with the James Bond collection a while ago, great to watch the development of a series.

My son and I have a 'serious' sickness!

We have everything Star Trek (TV series/Film) related on video or dvd except the most recent film - including the little known animated series! Just a couple of gaps where specials have been done such as documentaries etc.

Plus many books and other collectibles, but not huge by comparison to some collectors......any questions as to why I'm known as quark (the Ferengi)?!

Trouble is - unlike my on-screen alias - I do not possess the gold-pressed latinum I would dearly love to have to do some good for myself, family, friends and other good causes of my chosing.

You like to tread dangerously, I can tell.

No, not a Hitchcock-a-thon, most of my collection is in storage until the new house is finished, but I've kept a few of my favs out for times of desperation.

I remember being petrified by Hitchcock's 'The Birds' when I first saw it on T.V. when I was little, I kept an eye on the local crows & starlings for a while after that in case they swooped down to get me!
