  • 365 days to my 40th Birthday

As you can guess today is my 39th Birthday (don't panic i'm not one for celibrating my birthdays), and to be honest not much different to any of my other birthdays, 3 children giving me presents the youngest managing to jump on me and hiting me in what James May calls "The Gentlemens Area" causing a few tears in my eyes but today I have learned 2 things

1 everyone younger than myself has found it highly amusing to point out "Its the big Four Zero next year

2 everyone older has decided to tell me to be afraid be very afraid for the are all seeking revenge, I admit it is partly my own fault I have always played a few jokes or made comments on peoples 40th Birthdays.

I admit on one 40th for a friend who's a landscape gardener and going bald I gave him a gallon of Chainsaw oil however I accidentally had painted hair restorer on the can.

another one I sent and envelope with a packet of opened blue sweets pretending It was sent from the phamaceutical Company asking if he would be a guinea pig for the latest Viagra Trials.

and printing a picture of friend when she was sloshed on a bunch of T shirts and getting everyone to unveil them in a restaurant on mass may have been a bit naughty.

Printing various posters and posting them on telgraph poles for others
was a public service or so I thought.

I really can't see why everyone is trying to victimize me as I keep trying to tell them it was all a accident, I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time

Still I have a year to wait im sure they will all be very forgiving and not carry out any of the threats of revenge

Not sure my life began, but I hadnt noticed any real difference.

Long may the gags continue, and happy birthday to you for today.

Life is just like a multi coursed meal. You just have to savour each course as it comes along!

Only 39? don't worry it's all down hill from now on!
But seriously worry not it's all in the mind I was 60 last year but feel like a 40 year old(don't tell my wife )
If you have good health and look after your self keep up with the gardening life should be fine.
Don't forget the answer to the big question is 42.

Happy belated Birthday I will be hitting the big 4 0 next year on Nov 9th and I don't feel I'm getting any older, I've still got jeans from when I was at Uni (and don't ask if they still fit - that would be rude) May this year be kind to you health wise. You only have 364 days of worry ahead wondering what humiliation will be inflicted upon you.

Happy belated b'day from me. It was my birthday yesterday too but I'm not keen to share my age, no matter how slight the gap between us!

You should spend the rest of the year being 'nice' to your friends, so perhaps, just perhaps, they'll go easy on you next year (though I very much doubt it!!!).
A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.

Be thankful you are soon to be forty. Anyone under 60 has never lived.

Take it from me.. I know these things... and in 8 years time I shall say that "anyone under 70 has never lived"

                          Happy birthday... junior :-)

My 40th this year and am very much looking forward to it - already planning loads of celebrations etc. However, re the wind up things, I'd hate any of those things done to me and therefore wouldn't do them to anybody else so guess that if it's your thing then you don't mind it done in return.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
