    Rules

*Open to All Members of the Grapevine
*All entries to be grown by the exhibitor for at least two months prior to the show.
*No more than one entry per class (except where stated)
*Two or more people may not enter in the same class with produce from the same garden or allotment
    *Judges decision to be final
*First entry posted is your final entry - no deleting and reposting
    *Closing date September 30th

We have found a way for Grapes themselves to vote for the winners of each category, more details on that below

    Tips
(These are not rules, just tips on getting the best from your fruit and veg )

Choose closely matching veg for categories that require more than one item.
Clean up and tidy your entry before taking a photograph.
Put on a suitable background - a piece of white paper or a pale coloured plate for example.
Try to take your photographs in good, natural light if possible.
Take a picture from more than one angle.
Put something in the picture to quantify the size/weight - a 50p or a tape measure for instance.
Take several pictures and post the best 2 or 3.
You have until September 30th to post your entries, so take photographs of everything, keep them in a folder and then choose the best to enter.
If you don't know how to add photos, check out this link

We looked at the entries for last year and the ones with few or no entries were combined together. So '3 sticks of rhubarb' and '3 items of fruit' have been combined.
If we get a good lot of entries this year, next year's might have a few more categories.

Mrs Dobby, you could enter your rhubarb under any other item - and I hope you do.
Rat, I hope you get your entries in - it will give us all something to live up to.

For the 'Best Dish made with Own Produce' does everything have to be own produce or can cream (for example) be bought? (sorry if it seems a daft question)

I'm really happy to see it going for another year too And we think we've worked out a voting system so that we can have democratic winners AND enter our own stuff too! Yay!

Shirley, I think if the majority of the ingredients are your own produce then that's the main thing, things that you can't grow shouldn't be a problem

So now all I have to do is buy a camera, learn how to put them on the PC, then learn how to post them on the thread. Growing the produce is easy compared to that!!

With 'any other item' is it three of that item? Like peas, which I can't see where to enter.

Hmmmm, good question Haze I guess so, one pod of peas might look a bit lonely

I'd better think about how to amend/re-word that category, if it's a watermelon for instance, we wouldn't need 3...

How about - 'be creative' - and leave it to the imagination...for example one might want to enter a trug full of goodies.....someone might want to enter a selection of beans nicely arranged or some radishes carved into elaborate swans.....

I've added the 'how to add pictures' link to the bottom of Sarz's original post.
