| Good luck with the show Jennie. They seem quite unusual classes, I've seen pansies displayed in small vases or bowls & also where there are a number of them displayed with the heads set on top of a box with the stems poked into it so it looks like a picture, if you see what I mean. No idea on honeysuckles or nasturtiums, I imagine nasturtiums would be difficult to display in a vase as they tend to trail? Bet Nick or someone will be able to advise you. Enjoy the show. ![]()

| Well, how flattering! I don't think that I've been anyones inspiration before! Those weren't categories in our show, Jennie, so even though Trousers took loads of piccies that's not going to help you - but I hope that one of the flower growers can help you! You will be putting some piccies up here, won't you? Good luck - I had a tremendous time, and I'm sure you will too!

| Jennie, From Hazel's Hill Show, someone did put Honeysuckle into their 'Mixed' vase of flowers (see Haze? pay attention lass!) and they were really quite effective in an 'overall' bunch, but I agree: 'On their own?' Jennie, I'm sure that perfectly reasonable questions are allowed to be asked of the judges or stewards, just as us mere mortals do of yourself and yonder piggy before the event finally takes place? Ask Sweetheart. I'm sure they'll tell you. It's great to know the rules before you enter, or you have wasted precious produce and precious time. No? And HUGE luck to you for the categories you decide to enter. My thoughts are with you!

| Thanks for all your support! Wellie - great minds think alike! I did phone last night and asked. And apparently they are judging the flowers not the way they are displayed. And it was even suggested I use a small jam jar instead of a vase as some years they have gone missing. But .......... I have to say whether the nasturtiuns are grown under glass or not. I suppose that is fair as after the gale force winds we had on Thursday, my garden nasturtiuns are either non-existent or black! I was going to show the salad ones I grow in the tunnel. Honeysuckle is now also "off" as that has disappeared in the wind too! I've never done anything like this before (only just old enough to join the WI ) but I've got all my craft entries done (I'm going for an entry in every class - ), a couple of knitting and cross stitch bits, and three photographs printed and mounted. Everything is laid out on the bed in the spare room, labelled as per instructions - and I feel quite chuffed. I've got to work on Friday (the day of taking everything to the Town Hall), so if three carrots don't come out of the ground straight off, I might have to give up on that one. A Thursday night buzz around the garden will also determine whether four annuals are up to it or not. And sadly, all my tomato chutney has been finished off by our visitors (Earthbabe they thought the recipe was delicious), so that's a no-goer now too. Oh the joys .............. |

| Pass !! I never sho anything smaller than a chrysanth or Dahlia!! Pansy's are shown on a board sometimes which is how SueA was describing but I think they have a dish of water underneath. Could you not phone the secretary up and ask them? Good look anyway
