  • Flowerless bulbs

My Christmas bulbs did not flower. Is there any point in feeding them and looking after them for the whole summer. Are they likely to flower next year or should they be on their way to the compost bin?

You could try those in the garden, Stella, but I don't think you can use them for the house again as they are specially treated for Christmas flowering.

I'd keep watering them-and put them somewhere cooler in the house. They may yet flower ( although possibly not this year)
When it warms up a bit get them outside and then plant them out for next year.
Of course you could take the pot back to where you got them from and ask for a refund!

They were bulbs I bought and potted up myself, same as I did sucessfully last year.
They are outside now in disgrace hanging their long leaves on the norty step!

Would suggest you dig a hole in a free corner of your garden, tip out the pot - leaves, bulbs, soil - heel them into the hole and forget them. I bet in 12-months time you have a great display of flowers!

Remember to feed them well now- they'll be producing food to store in the bulb for next years growth ( and flower)

Plant them deep. Daffs that are not deep enough will not flower.
