That's about 1-2hrs work if you were to pay a gardener to work in your garden!!

But, that's the rate for a subsidised allotment from a local council - privately renting a small field would cost a lot more, and an unskilled/unqualified gardener wouldn't get paid as much, so I think there's probably grounds for some compromise there

Food for thought, thank you all for the advice, I'll see if anyone is interested. Otherwise if anyone knows a good, reliable gardener in Knutsford, an individual rather than a company who would be willing to do a couple of hours a week maybe then let me know.Comment
