| IN the absence of a greenhouse MrsC2B, you could grow your chillie on the windowsill. It would be fine there. The greenhouse is only where I put them when there's no windowsill space left - but I'm a real sucker.

| The only thing I grew last year was a chilli plant on the kitchen windowsill - it virtually took over, had loads of chillis (the more we picked the more they grew) and we are still enjoying the frozen sauce. So I would say a windowsill is fine MrsC2B. |

| a sunny patio or sheltered wall to grow against will allow you to grow outdoors, and the plants benefit from better pollination by insects = more chillies . i grow them on every available space including windowsills and on warm days these also go outside.

| Have grown them inside on the window sill, in the greenhouse and outside in pots and in beds. All work fine although it's a bit cold for them outside at the moment and you have to pick a sheltered spot. There was a trial on GW last year (?) and the outdoor plants were stockier, healthier looking plants and produced loads although probably started later.

(speaking from experience here!) If you live in a warm part of the country they might be okay outdoors in daytime - more experienced grapes will advise on that one!
