a lot of brown bees in my garden

    a lot of brown bees in my garden

    Whilst digging over our garden and laying a lawn we have noticed a large quantity of brown bees in the garden they seem to be hovering a few inches off the soil. They keep flying into the conservatory and am doing my best to rescue them and put them back outside.
    We have never had this many bees in the garden before, any ideas why there are so many?

    Sounds like you have Tawny Mining bee's (Andrena fulva).

      I sat on a dark brown/black slim bee y'day, it gave me a quick not_too_painful sting and flew off

        Insects found in Britain this site has a picture of the little critters.
        They do not have gingery coloured bottoms!! Shame those guys look really cute.
