Default Slug-reducing advice needed

Hi everyone

I haven't had internet access for ages so I'm finally relieving my withdrawal symptoms today

I need to find out the name of a product I heard about. A couple of weeks ago I was watching Gardener's World but when I was sort of half asleep. I am quite sure that one of the presenters used something he brought where you mix it with water and use a watering can to pour it all over the vegetable patch, and it contains some kind of natural organisms that actually eat slugs that are already in the soil. At least, I think so anyway, it's a hazy memory.

Can anyone help? Is it safe to use when plants are already growing? The leaves of my cauliflowers are already starting to get eaten!

It's called Nemasys, I think. Consists of nematodes which are parasites which feed on slugs and destroy them. You mix into a paste and dilute, then water on - poor slugs. Doesn't affect crops, as far as I know. I use blue pellets or salt, or hand picking. Everyone has a favourite, but the slugs and snails still seem to win.
