Default Olive tree disease

I've got an olive tree in a pot, had it a few years and it is outside all year round.

It's about 4' tall now and has been super healthy up till now.

Unfortunatley, it has recently developed some sort of disease characterised by a hardish black deposit on many of the leaves and some stems.

Any members know what this is or what I should do about it?

This plant is at home so I would be prepared to spray if absolutely necessary.....I never use any chemicals at the lottie.

No Nicos, that's not it.

There is no yellowing or loss of the leaves just a hard black deposit on many leaves and some stems.

If you take a few leaves in a plastic see-through bag ( so as not to pass on the disease) to your nearest large garden centre , they may be able to help you.
Do let us know how you get on as I was given an olive tree for my birthday and it would be good to look out for problems.
Are you able to post a photo of it????
The only other thing I've heard about is black scale

Hmmm scale insects eh?

Could be. What do I do about them, just leave them?

I'll try to take and post a picture when I get home.

Default Black Sooty deposits on Olive Tree

Hi TEB (Rooter),

I am looking for a diagnosis of the black Sooty deposits you mention that is affecting my olive tree as well. Did you ever learn what it was?

I hope I am leaving access to the image here!
