  • Oh my! Eerily Dusty Courgette leaves!

Help! I noticed this morning that a fine white dust is accumulating on the top of the leaves of my courgette plants.

I don't know what it is, but I'm guessing its not cocaine or anything good.

Anybody out there with any info or advice?

Powdery mildew, woudn't bother getting Jack Daniels in and your mates round to snort it. Caused by the dry weather difficult to control organically. i normally plant successive batches, keep them damp and don't worry about it but if you look in allotment advice I recently asked a question about the chemicals available to you.

      Yes, it's powdery mildew.

It appears to have arrived early for many of us this year - normally I'm ok until August but I have a few spots already.

I don't use chemicals, so I have to just soldier on. I'm sowing some more today.

Wht on earth is going on! I can't believe people have got powdery mildew at this time of year! I know we had a dry April but its been tipping it down for 2 weeks now. I'm guessing this is occurring on plants that are still inside?

exactly. they're on the landing outside my flat, lots of fresh air, probably cold too, but only my watering to wet them.

            is powdery mildew fatal?
