Default lovely furry white leaves

on the cherry tree leaves - daughter thinks theyre very pretty but i assume its a diseasy fungus thing?

It's a big mature tree that has obvioulsy been through the mill a little. evidence of cutting and cropping in the past. plus one of this weekends jobs is taking off the 12' branch that's been sagging and sagging and has just hit the lawn.

tree was covered in blossom that's now (suddenyl it seems) just gone and is browning and dying off. dont know if thats 'normal' timing?

but anyway the white coating is on the top and the bottom of the leaves. not all over, just occasional.

answers most appreciated....
