Default Lacewing Larvae

Just watched Gardeners World on UKTV Gardens. They had on there some lacewing larvae which you can buy[in cardboard trays]to control aphids.
1 Has anyone bought some and from where?

2 Does it work?

Do they do ladybird larvae too? Ladybirds carry on eating larvae after they hatch into pretty beetles. Ladybird larvae are grey with yellow spots, and look a bit off putting when you first see them, rather like short caterpillars with tapering ends.
