  • japanesse knotweed dug out (i hope)

    hi like to share me project with you
    started clearing this feb 20th 2013
    so far gone through 1 incinarator 2 shovels 1 worn out wheel barrow
    first pic is from last year when my dad had the house i moved in december still loads to do currently trying to dodge rain and build play house
    would have posted a photobucket link but not sure if allowed
    when not in work spend all free time in garden or researching forums on how to grow veg,got my first glass house so well happy.
    i have run power to it so got a eletric thermostat heater in there so hopefully will have toms this year

      was hard work found loads of old items burried i:e cast iron bath (never knew they were so heavy) 1 tin bath also a mangle with stone rollers i believe asked wife if she wanted it but i cant write her answer here

        I found a complete bathroom suite in this garden - the bath was full of empty wine bottles Hope you kept the tin bath - you can plant stuff in those
        There are quite a few Welshies on here

          I've tried digging it out on my plot - when I got to about 5' down I gave up.. I've read the roots can go down 7m!

          Hope you managed to eradicate it though- it sure is a pain.

            the tin bath went with all the other items/chris the ground you can see i have dug half of it 3 times and still finding bits off roots i will leave the soil bare this year and keep turning it over so hopefully i will spot any growth and deal with it so next year i can put some veg beds
