Default Friend/foe

I have thought about this for a while...
wouldn't it be useful to set up a thread- like Geordie had for composts etc- advising us on which creepy crawly/ flying things are helpful ( or not) to our veg/fruit and how to encourage the good ones???
Failing that ...maybe GYO could do a 4-6 page thread as a one-off to advise us all??

Good idea Nicos! I'd certainly be interested in getting advice on what to squish and what to leave!

As a Biologist I would love to help with this forum. I have many photos of creepy crawlies and I have a knowledge of plant diseases and Micro Fungi.
It would be a great idea.

Go on then. I will put it on the list for Admin. But as with every new suggestion we want support from as many members as possible.

Is this not what the 'pests and diseases' thread is for?

A sub-thread within makes sense I suppose, similar to Dr Heyason's? books with photographs and A to Z?

Pest identification? Disease identification? Fungus identification? Weed identification?

Would it need to be a closed thread?

Questions, questions,? quite complicated to set up I would imagine?

Sounds interesting. I have found lots of critters while digging what used to be a bramble patch and hopefully will be a veg garden this summer. I struggle to identify them and find that many could be either good or bad as pictures aren't always very clear

Snadger you are ofcourse quite right. I wasn't feeling too good last night so the brain wasn't working properly. What is needed is a sub forum off this board.
