Default Charlock disposal

The adjacent vacant plot on the lottie is overun with Charlock (virgin lottie) As this doesnt set seed till August, and harmless apart from the seeds which are bad for livestock, is it safe to compost it up? In preference to using chemicals I am hand pulling it.

So THAT's what that stuff is! I always called it a wild brassica, guess I was right. We have tons of it here. It flowers April to July, so cut them off so it doesn't seed everywhere. If you have the time, pull it up. Yes, compost it, or leave it in situ as a weed-suppressing mulch. Google Image Result for http://www.gardenorganic.org.uk/assets/organicweeds/charlock.jpg

Yes it is a wild brassica according to the research I`ve done. AKA "wild mustard", or "brassica sinapis". Next plot absolutely overun with the stuff. As a brassica its host to all the pests that trouble cabbage etc, so i want shot of it! I`ll pull it up and compost it.
Have a look, Charlock - Weed information - Organic Weed Management
