  • Weather predictions - 2012

With all the talk of impending drought followed by the experts predicting another arctic winter I feel that we can all do a bit better.

How do you see it this year......feel free to use your rose coloured future seeing weather spectacles!

And what will you do to prepare?

A nice mild end to the winter, early spring with hardly any frost.... just when I put all my tender stuff out it'll now.

Then it'll throw it down all summer and rot most things

I can't predict so don't bother. I try and grow healthy plants in the first place that are either protected when they go out or self-sufficient and hardy enough to cope. If some die then that's life. I've usually got others to replace them.

Lets see... really hot in march, downgraded to hot for April and May , Warm and wet squalls for June, July , August and September. Hot for October and November. Beeping hot for December, January and February

worryingly dry overall, with occasional downpours that flatten everything!

If it dont rain soon it will be a drought, if it rains it will be a flood, then we will get a late freezing
frost, followed by more rain, then it will be winter again! Nuff said

Wet Spring with Heavy April Showers
Wet Summer (especially in July), First two weeks of June will be 22c and pleasant though.
Dry and Warm Autumn at the end of September
                    Windy but Dry October
Mild Winter until January 2013 when the snow has a holiday here.

In other words, a typical British year akin to the 90's

Perfectly perfect, all day every day, with just enough rain each night to see us good.

It would be great if it was warm (not scorching) every day and rained almost every night. But Im betting it wont!

I've made the decision today that it's going to bea hot and dry summer!...so I sowed an extra 20 chilli seeds!

In reality- I guess that winter is going to keep poking it's nose late into Spring- so warm and wet, warm and dry spring with some frosty nights right through till very late May.
                              Short, hot summer...
                              then very wet windy Autumn.
