  • Thunderstorm

Wow, we have a massive thunderstorm going on at the moment over the kent south coast. OH braved the very steep garden to go up to summerhouse to take some pictures over the sea to France.
He is safely back indoors now, very wet!
Quite spectacular. Should be good for the garden after 5 days of sunshine.

Woke up to heavy mist..it's nice and warm so I'm hoping for a lovely afternoon if the sun manages to burn through the mist!

I got woken up this morning by two very loud claps of thunder, the loudest I've every heard, frightened the life out of me. It was so loud, there were vibrations in the house.

We had it too BB. I thought the neighbours were moving furniture for a while, and then as it got nearer I said to OH 'I can hear thunder', 'nah' he replied...

        Flash! Boom! Bang!

'errr, you might be right' he admitted.

Today started misty after the storm last night. But it is very sunny and hot now. Our weather has really been like early summer these past 2 weeks - not sure what long term forecast is, but everything is certainly growing well :-)
I actually prefer it a little cooler, I am a bit allergic to the sun, and usually hope for milder weather when there is lots to do (now) and if it warms up in mid summer then I do my gardening chores early morning and early evening.

13.6mm of rainfall here last night.

Nice drop of water in the Butts, hammered the seeds well into the soil.!

We had it at 09:45 today - it got so dark that the streetlights came on. It was nearly as dark as when we had the eclipse a few years back!
