| Hello Snadger, there is no figure which is the annual average rainfall in the UK. It varies hugely from area to area. Where I live it is about 44" per year. I used to live in an area where it was 88" (Yuk). Some parts of Scotland get 140 " or more - double yuk !! The south of England can get 22" per year with some areas getting as little as 15" - mediterranian rainfall. You're somewhere in there Snadger ! Hope this is of some help.

| Not exactly an answer to your question, Snadger, but I found this in our local news letter thingy from the Mairie and it gives an estimate of the volume of water that can be gathered from a roof. Our area has an average rainfall of 550mm per year and the volume of water that can be salvaged from a roof 100m square is calculated thus 100 x 0.55 = 55 cubic metres of water and allowing for a 10% evaparation it leaves 49.5 cubic metres. We live in a dry area so just think of the volume that you could salvage in a wet area if you could find the space to store it .
