A fair amount of rain this week, mainly at night, and cool daytime temps Today - Lovely and warm the wind appears to be coming from the west - well sort of! Went out earlier to sort out the toms and it felt quite humid and hot, though there is high cloud. Barometer seems to be dropping so we should be getting more rain. Temp 25.2

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny warm day! What a change from the last three days of wet, cloudy and more wet! Coolish wind in the afternoon off the sea. Started out at 9C and plenty of dew on the grass. Today (so far) cool and cloudy.

Started out as a cloudy day, but lovely and mild. Then came the wind and it is still blowing! The weather reporter said breezy! He wasn't standing around our area that for sure! Bits coming off trees all over the roads. Luckily not strong enough to bring down big branches - well not yet! Bit of drizzle now and then but bothing much!

Been lovely here for the last four days! Beautiful blue skies, warm been a bit windy some of the time but lovely! Plenty dew on the grass but no lower than about 9C I think so no frost. Cool at night though with the clear skies. Might change later in the week though! Just checked met check and no real rain expected this week! Will have to get the watering cans out with my light sandy soil!

It was a warm and humid day yesterday with not much wind. Last night the heavens opened and we had the mother and father of all thunderstorms! Rumbled around for a good three hours non stop rain! The roads around here are all flooded - in fact driving along them last night was a big hairy. The small back roads were completely flooded and it was a 2nd gear job to get through them!

| Woke up yesterday to damp fog - the type that require you to keep flicking your windscreen wipers on... but it dried up - this morning it is very grey, but no fog - I wonder whether it is time to start putting the washing on the line inside my OH's workshop! I knew it would come in useful when he built it!

After an extended summer, it's suddenly skipped Autumn and seems to be heading helter skelter for winter. Sunday I cut the lawn which was growing like I don't know what - too wet in the last couple of weeks to cut and still warm enough to keep it growing. No autumn colour on the trees here, but they've suddenly started dropping their leaves. Go yellow one day, blow off the next. I've got primroses flowering and bluebells putting up leaves, self-sown parsley germinating in the border. I've started keeping a daily temperature record, and it's actually not too much different to last year, just a tad warmer. I think our max temp (6 Sept, the day latest grandson was born) was the hottest most uncomfortable day of the year, really humid. It's hard to believe its November now, and temperatures have been well into the mid teens right up to now. Be interesting to see what the winter will bring.

What is going on with the weather? Today mild, wet and windy. At last the trees have gained some colour (the ones that haven't already lost their leaves), so we've got a little autumn colour in winter. I've got coloured buds on the forsythia, the oriental poppies are in full leaf, the weeds and the lawn are still growing like mad. Bluebells are pushing up green shoots. We still haven't had a frost here on the coast, although it did get close.
