Default Yak!! Wash your salad leaves properly!

As we are drowning in salad leaves from the poly for dinner tonight decided on a big spicy mix with tomatoes, feta, olive oil and balsamic ... och what a party in one's mouth.

About 3/4 into munching this colossal salad I feel I am chewing on something springy, ...spit spit spit!!

I can't believe it I just for the first time in my life chewed a large slug to death, how repulsive and hard to wash out of my mouth.

Next time I am going to wash this properly..

Hah hah - this is exactly what happened to my daughter last night, still, she was on salad washing duty, so a bit of a lesson learned. I was on salad washing duty tonight..... But I noticed her plate was strangely empty!

In the mists of time the first meal I had with my future sister-in-law there was something lurking in the salad. I didn't eat salad for years. Later when my future husband was asked at an interview - if you were having dinner with your boss and you noticed his wife eating a caterpillar what would you do. The correct answer apparently was to say nothing to avoid embarrassing the poor woman. He went to work somewhere else.

Not quite on the slug scale of disgust but I remember my brother and I watching Mum eating a sandwich with a little spider scuttling along on the outer edge that she couldn't see. Neither of us said anything until she had swallowed it! She has never forgiven us!!
