The potatoes must be kept frost free - their foliage is very tender. Keep them in the greenhouse all the time.

Keep them cool to warm, and damp not wet. Don't go mad with the watering, but do check them regularly.

It is a big gamble at this time of year, but you never know...

I planted my winter potatoes beginning of sept, they shot through within a couple of weeks then prompty got blight! I hacked the foliage off & have left them in their pots & am hoping they will make a miraculous recovery in spring!

I've got two which I moved into the greenhouse full time a couple of weeks ago i.e. just before I went away on holiday.

Came back from hols and found one still healthy, the other looks a bit dodgy. not sure what the problem is, the leaves are unaffected but the stem has dark patches on it - think it might be cold damage?? because it doesn't seem to be rotting or anything. I meant to post a pic on here but then discovered my camera had been stolen from my luggage at the airport, not to mention that I fell over in theg arden yesterday and did my ankle in - potato problem has somehat receded into the background lol. Anyway, I'm hoping it is cold and not something infectious because I haven't got the legs to do anything about it otherwise!
Warning: I have a dangerous tendency to act like I know what I'm talking about.

I planted some, but I think it was too late for xmas, the leaves are up though, two sets, and seem ok, am waiting for them to get tall enough to top up the bin.
they are in the greenhouse, but it is not heated or anything, may move them indoors when it gets too cold.

they are going to look very odd on the kitchen windowsill
