  • Whoops.

    Well we all do it.

Today was the day to harvest the last bin of Lady C first/second earlies. I have been looking forward to seeing what was in there as the haulms were a tremendous size. I knew they were Lady C as there was no label (I had run out at the time of planting).

Rip the haulms off and dig up Picasso main crop spuds along with a buried lable

Still if this is whats under there from a 07/04 sowing I think that when I harvest the other bins at the correct time we shall get a decent harvest.

I dug up my main crop Mr Little's yesterday by mistake (labels lost amongst foliage). Seeing what they were, I quickly shoved them back in again before it noticed, adding a bucket of comfrey tea for good measure

I've still got some early Duke of York planted in a pocket somewhere? Must have a mooch around my tattie pockets and try and find them as I dug a good bucketful of Kestrel (2nd early) tuther day and the DOY's should really be used up first!

I tipped out a tub of really strange knobbly Ambo, then twigged they were actually PFA LOL

(note to self: writing on a white tub with felt tips doesn't work very well!) Ho hum

Dug up some salad pots (Marilyn) from the centre of the bed, haulms had all died back but they turned out to be main crop - just the haulms in the middle of the bed have died back, salad and main crop - the main crop to the side of the bed are still fine! Perhaps the Desiree just wandered over!
