Just have a little patience. The weather hasn't been brilliant for outdoor tomatoes. I had my first red one this weekend. Once they start to turn you'll find they go at a rate.

A bit of nice warm sunshine is what's needed

Don't worry George - your tomatoes are looking good and should start to ripen soon.

Mine are the same George, try putting some banana skins in amongst the tomatoes - it can help to ripen them.

Do you just strew them around on the compost, Zazen, or actually hang them up amongst the tomatoes? Mine are in the GH but still far from ripening. We have nearly finished those in the conservatory and it will really go against the grain if I have to buy some.

Even many of my greenhouse ones are still green. Believe it or not, it's still quite early in the season. And you'll get a glut before October - honestly!

I hang em near the toms themselves.

I cannot buy tomatoes from a shop unless I absolutely have to; I bought some the other week because we had family round but I probably only bought about 3 packets all last winter....I'm trying to eat seasonally. I pickled beetroot last year for adding to salads in place of toms so that the salad had some colour to it.

As Flum says; it really is early in the season; I've been taking some off once they go a lighter green and bringing them indoors to ripen.
