Hi

Ive now got some Aaron pilot from Wilkos.
The traditional planting date would be easter, does easter average the beginning of April?
But climate change, does that bring the date for planting forward, 2-4 weeks.
I live in Leeds.

I'd wait till mid March at least, unless you are putting them in pots in a greenhouse for an early crop. Frost will kill the foliage otherwise. Although they can come back again even from a bad frosting, the plant is set back so much that you might as well have waited.

Mid to late March as a general rule, but you have to be aware of the actual conditions at the time. If it's frosty, or frost forecast, or very wet, then wait a bit.

As above... there's no point at all in putting a tender plant in too early. You might just get away with it if you're prepared to rush up with fleece if a frost threatens.
I think half the joy of gardening is waiting for stuff, and a week or two will make little difference; I never feel the need to be the first with something, potato or otherwise. Though its nice if it happens by accident!
