  • What visual differences are there between Cubanelle peppers...

Jalapenos (both mild and hot) and thai peppers (both mild and hot), or even the plants they grow on.
all my plants got mixed up when they were still at seedling stage and now they are ready for harvesting and seed saving I would like to know the difference, so i don't eat a hot pepper instead of a mild one and so the seeds I label in each packet are correct.

Can you see any differences? If so, what are they?

some peppers are quite fat and straight and a slight yellow colour. another lot are quite small and curl up at the bottom and are a really deep green colour, other than those 2 i can't tell much

You have googled both I take it?

Jalapenos are quite stumpy, at the ends - and usually have 'corking' on the skin.

yes, i'm thinking the yellowish ones are the Cubenelle and the small curled ones are the thai hot's, but for the others, no clue

The plants probably all look the same, but the peppers...well jalapenos should be easy to spot. Cubanelle are a sweet 'frying pepper' long & blocky. The thai ones are probably more thin and pointy.

I think the only way is to taste them. And next year make sure all the pots have labels in them

cubanelles appear to be more flattened with a thinner fleshy bit, jalapenos are fat and round with no squashing...cubanelles

Ok as it stands i can only tell the difference between 3 different types. guess i will have to just have a bag of mixed seeds =p

These are definitely bell peppers, no confusion there.

for these i am thinking the thai hot peppers, they definitely look hot.

                        These i were thinking cubanelle.

same as above, notice the slight yellow colour in comparison to the greener bell, that's why i was thinking cubanelle

there are no jalapenos in any of the pictures I can see. Yes to the bell pepper, yes to the thai hot, and yes to the cubanelle
