  • What are they

as a newbie gardener, I know nothing about pests, but have just found lots of them on my otherwise healthy Aubergines. I suspect they may be common greenfly, but I am not sure, and whatever they are, how do I get rid of em?

They are whitefly and suck the sap. You can spray with a bug killer or if you don't like chemicals then you can use soapy water (which still has chemicals in it ).

If you've only got a few plants just squish em!

They are greenfly. The white bits are sort of discarded skins. Squish them

If you grow them in pot, you can just rinse it down with the tap water (unless you are in the northwest).

I sparyed em with some ultimate bug spray, there were hundreds, funnily enough, the Aubergine next to it had none
