    what to do with manure at this time of the year

    I have a tonne of manured delivered. need to use it wisely as I have spent a fortune. also some cow manure granules. is it goot time for any crops to have manure?


    I also have some Orla seed potatos not yet planted. what is the good time for them to go in. have already planted some in april(earlies and mains)

    Personally I'd stack the manure and leave it to mature until the Autumn. As far as seed potatoes goes I would get them in as soon as possible. Orla are a second early so would need 14 weeks or so, which is about mid October. Blight will be your biggest worry, followed by early frost.

      I've only tried xmas spuds once - won't bother again mself but good luck - some folks manage a decent crop.

        I'd also stack the Manure somewhere, cover with black plastic to stop any weeds growing then spread it on your beds in Autumn to overwinter.

          Some people like to put it on Rhubarb. Personally I prefer custard.
