  • What can I grow in containers in the shade???

I am currently growing potatoes, toms, beans, carrots, beetroot, more potatoes, salad, spinach, more toms, strawberries and some other stuff I forgot to label.

Anyway the patio is pretty full up now and the wife is not best pleased.

There is quite a bit of space in the top of the garden but it's like a small forest up there (3 3's ) so there is a canopy of branches. The space up there gets a bit of sun but not much but it is warm.

Could I grow anything up there in containers?

Would potatoes grow as I have a good few seed potatoes left?

    Salad prefers shade.
So does Chinese veg like pak choi, but delay sowing it for a month or two or it will just bolt.

Hi there, I grow most of my stuff in containers too. I have had success with carrots, cucumber and outdoor melon (with some canes to climb up), tomatoes, courgettes in a big container, peas and beans (also need canes to climb up) loads of sald stuff including lettuce, pak choi, radishes and cabbages!
You can try anything really - go for it!
