Default What can I grow with asparagus

I am going to have an asparagus bed on my plot but in my wisdom I over ordered my potato order (which is not a disaster as me, my husband and Jack Russell live on spuds). Anyway I will now be limited on space for a while. I just wondered if there was anything I could grow in my asparagus bed, seeing as it would be able to be harvested for a few years and i need the space this year.

I grow Parsley and Coriander on the outside edges of my bed so far, and should be able to crop my Asparagus very lightly this year, and properly next year....
Hope this helps you, and good luck with it....

Asparagus needs a permanent bed, and doesn't like having it's roots disturbed. Therefore you can't grow any root veg with it. You might get away with radish, or herbs round the edge of the bed.
